OFAH Presents Ontario Hunting Heritage Award

The Ontario Hunting Heritage Award is presented annually to a person or persons for their outstanding involvement in the development and delivery of the Ontario Hunter Education Program, and/or the promotion of Ontario’s hunting heritage.

The 2013 award went to the husband and wife team of Ernie and Lyndsay Nutter of the Griffith Island Hunt Club. According to the judges, “This team has gone above and beyond by donating their personal time and resources to ensure that our hunting heritage is passed on to new generations.”

As members of the Griffith Island Hunt Club, Ernie and Lyndsay have been there to support many who have taken the hunter education and firearms safety courses. Besides sponsoring many friends, family members and associates to take the courses, they have gone out of their way to help students access the opportunity to take the training. Above all else, they make sure to pass along their knowledge of Ontarians’ hunting heritage to everyone they come in contact with, making them truly deserving of the honour.
