Practice in outdoors traditions “in range” at Heritage Centre
New activities open at OFAH|Mario Cortellucci Hunting & Fishing Heritage Centre
A world-class education centre in Peterborough has the official opening of a unique hands-on archery and pellet gun experience in its sights. The OFAH | Mario Cortellucci Hunting & Fishing Heritage Centre will officially open its Excalibur Archery Range and Stoeger Airgun Range on Tuesday, June 12, at noon, on the lower level of the centre. Representatives from Excalibur and Stoeger will be on hand to take the first official aim and shots on the ranges, which were funded by these OFAH conservation partners.
“We are pleased to be supported by Stoeger Canada and Excalibur Crossbow. These OFAH partners share our belief in giving more people, particularly youth, new hands-on experiences that reinforce safety and respect, concentration and self confidence,” said Angelo Lombardo, OFAH Executive Director. “Target shooting is a fun, family-based activity, and the Excalibur and Stoeger ranges provide another opportunity for the Heritage Centre to celebrate time-honored outdoor traditions.”
The range facilities are available for group bookings and special events. Each pre-booked session includes all equipment, safety instruction, and range supervision.
The Heritage Centre, which is owned and operated by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) on behalf of its members, offers the ranges as the latest addition to its already popular educational wildlife galleries, lure and decoy collections, Toronto Sportsmen’s Show Amphitheatre, Shimano aquarium and Shimano fishpond.
Until Labour Day, the Heritage Centre is open Monday to Saturday 10 am to 4 pm, Sunday 12 noon to 4pm and the public is welcome to come visit.
