OFAH set to host 84th Fish and Wildlife Conference
Julian Fantino to deliver keynote for province’s largest outdoors organization

Julian FantinoOutdoor enthusiasts are counting the days until the opening of spring fishing and hunting seasons, but before they take to the field and water, they are headed to the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters‘ (OFAH) 84th Annual General Meeting and Fish & Wildlife Conference. The conference will run from March 15 to March 17 at the Delta Meadowvale Resort and Conference Centre in Mississauga, and over 600 participants have already registered for the informative and entertaining event.

The main conference gets underway Thursday afternoon with the annual general meeting. Speaker sessions run all day Friday and the Conservation Awards Gala is slated for Friday evening, with the Honourable Julian Fantino giving the keynote address. On Saturday, participants will enjoy free admission to the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show, the famous fish and game buffet, and a retirement celebration for OFAH Executive Director Mike Reader.

Parts of the conference are interactive and online. All Friday speaker sessions are being livestreamed at www.ofah.org/conference. Presenters include Minister of Natural Resources Michael Gravelle (who will also take questions from the floor) and fish and wildlife experts speaking on topics such as moose management, the new automated hunting and fishing licensing system, and fish and wildlife enforcement. OFAH members with a question for the Minister of Natural Resources are invited to email it to asktheminister@ofah.org.

There are still a limited number of spots available for onsite conference registration. Visit www.ofah.org/conference for more details.

With over 100,000 members, subscribers and supporters, and 675 member clubs, the OFAH is the province’s largest nonprofit, fish and wildlife conservation-based organization, and the VOICE of anglers and hunters. For more information, visit www.ofah.org.
