Sudbury club wins Lottery Award

Bringing home the hardware to Sudbury is becoming a reoccurring event for the Sudbury Game and Fish Protective Association. They grabbed top honors for the fifth year in row and eighth time overall at the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters’ (O.F.A.H.) 75th Annual General Meeting and Wildlife Conference.

The Sudbury club won the Bert Austin Trophy as the biggest ticket seller for the 28th O.F.A.H./Conservation Lottery. The Sudbury club maintained their high standards as they sold a whopping 1,200 books of tickets, generating thousands of dollars for local and provincial conservation projects.

The 28th Annual O.F.A.H./Conservation Lottery featured prizes in excess of $275,000, including a first prize worth over $83,000, consisting of a 2002 Dodge Datoka, a Lund 1675 Pro sport boat with a 115-horsepower Yamaha outboard and a Northtrail trailer. Second prize, worth almost $40,000 was a brand new 2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4×4.

Thousands of dollars are raised through the sale of the O.F.A.H./Conservation Lottery each year to undertake important conservation work across the province.
