Ontario’s Wild Turkey program a HUGE success

In a press release issued earlier today, the Peaceful Parks Coalition got one thing right in agreeing that the Ontario wild turkey restoration program has been very successful.

In less than 20 years, our wild turkey population has grown from zero to almost 50,000 birds, and a valued part of our natural heritage has been restored. No negative environmental consequences have resulted. On the contrary, the benefits (ecological, social, and economic) have been substantial without cost to taxpayers, because the program is funded by revenues from hunting licences, and a special provincial wild turkey fund (also paid for by hunters).

The Peaceful Parks Coalition is an antihunting, antisustainable user group with links to violent and radical animal rights organizations such as Ark II.
