Innisfil conservationist recognized provincially
Father follows son in receiving conservation accolade

At the recent Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (O.F.A.H.) 81st Annual General Meeting and Fish & Wildlife Conference, Mike Evers Sr. of Innisfil was presented with the Gord Blake Memorial Conservation Award for his contributions to conservation.

"It is an honor to work with Mike Evers on conservation initiatives and issues," said O.F.A.H. Vice President Bill Blackwell. "Mike is tireless in his dedication and enthusiasm for the outdoors and in his efforts toward the conservation of our fish and wildlife."

Mike’s many contributions include passing his passion for the outdoors on to the next generation. His son, Michael Evers Jr., was awarded the O.F.A.H. Heritage Junior Award in 2007. Mike Evers Sr. sits on the O.F.A.H. Board of Directors, and is an active member of the Barrie District Hunters and Anglers Conservation Club.

Named after an O.F.A.H. Past President and long time member of the Oakville and District Rod & Gun Club, the Gord Blake Memorial Conservation Award is given to the individual O.F.A.H. member whose efforts have done the most for conservation.

With over 100,000 members, subscribers and supporters, and 655 member clubs, the O.F.A.H. is the largest nonprofit, charitable, fishing, hunting and conservation-based organization in Ontario, and the voice of anglers and hunters. For more information, visit www.ofah.org.
