Tree planting part of major effort to bring back the salmon

The Lake Ontario Atlantic Salmon Restoration Program (LOASRP) will host an event that will see approximately 800 trees and shrubs planted on the banks of Duffins Creek this Friday, November 14th at the Greenwood Conservation Area in Ajax. The event gets underway at 11:00 AM and will wrap by about 3 PM. A pizza lunch will be provided for volunteers (and media).

This tree planting initiative is being led by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, Toronto Region Conservation Authority (T.R.C.A.), and Fleming College, all of whom are LOASRP partners, together with the Ministry of Natural Resources, Banrock Station Wines, LCBO, Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association, Fishing Forever Foundation and more than 30 other conservation authorities, organizations and landowners.
