Target shooters and hunters safe from unnecessary handloading regulations
O.F.A.H. applauds government for supporting a perfectly safe activity

Hunters and target shooters who enjoy reloading their own ammunition are pleased to hear that the federal government has no intention of overly restricting this perfectly safe activity, as was previously proposed.

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, representing tens of thousands of law-abiding gun owners, joined other firearms advocacy groups to protest against plans to restrict an activity that has always maintained an excellent safety record.

Evidently, the federal government agrees that further handloading restrictions are unnecessary. Recently, Natural Resources Canada, responsible for these regulations under the Explosives Act, announced that “the government will not be proceeding with any new handloading regulations.”

Mike Reader, O.F.A.H. Executive Director, said “the government should also be congratulated on promising that, in the future, any changes to handloading regulations will require extensive consultations with organizations such as the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters.”
