O.F.A.H. and Country 105 announce a ‘Concert For Conservation’

The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, (O.F.A.H.), the largest charitable, nonprofit conservation based organization in Ontario and Country 105 Radio, part of the CHUM Radio Group, announced their partnership in the 1st Annual ‘Concert for Conservation’, at the Peterborough Memorial Centre, October 15, 2004.

Appearing at the concert will be Canadian country stars and JUNO award winners The Wilkinsons, Beverley Mahood and LACE and Special Guests. All profits from the concert will go directly into the funding of fish and wildlife research.

“With money for projects like fish and wildlife research harder to come by the O.F.A.H. is looking for new and innovative ways of raising funding to continue the valuable work undertaken by our Fisheries Research Unit and other fish and wildlife research projects we are involved in”, said O.F.A.H. Executive Director, Mike Reader. “Without the support of sponsors like Shimano Canada, Lund Boats Canada, Peterborough Chrysler, Holiday Inn – Peterborough Waterfront, Ontario Out of Doors, Vincent Press, Carlson Wagonlit – Stewart Travel, and others who have helped to make this event a reality, we could never have attempted a fundraising venture of this magnitude. We are grateful for their support, pleased to be partnering with Country 105 Radio in this unique project and looking forward to a great event.”

Tickets for the concert go on sale through the Peterborough Memorial Centre Box Office at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, June 28, 2004, and are priced at $39.50 and $45.00. The Memorial Centre Box Office can be reached by calling (705) 743-3561.
