The Ministry of Natural Resources is proposing a number of revenue generation measures to enhance the amount of money going into the Fish And Wildlife Special Purpose Account (SPA).
OFAH members have until June 2 to give input through the Environmental Registry. Click on this link to have your say: http://www.ebr.gov.on.ca/ERS-WEB-External/displaynoticecontent.do?noticeId=MTIxMTUx&statusId=MTgxMzUy
The proposed changes, which include new hunting and angling fees, are outlined in the Draft Sustainability Strategy for the Fish and Wildlife Special Purpose Account: http://www.mnr.gov.on.ca/stdprodconsume/groups/lr/@mnr/@oc/documents/document/stdprod_110525.pdf
In 1995, the SPA was established through the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act (FWCA) ensuring revenues from licence sales, permits, royalties, fines and fees be used exclusively to fund MNR’s fish and wildlife program.
