Canadian residents can fish Ontario licence-free from July 3-11

Nine days of licence-free fishing during the Family Fishing Week

PETERBOROUGH — Ontario Family Fishing Events (OFFE) offers a great opportunity for families to get outdoors and do a little fishing this July.

Where public health measures permit safe fishing, Ontarians are encouraged to fish as a family unit this year. Whether anglers cast their line from boat or shore, the licence-free fishing days are a great way to spend the first week of July.

From July 3 to July 11, (12:01 a.m. Saturday to 11:59 p.m. Sunday), Canadian residents can fish Ontario public waters licence-free, but must adhere to the conservation fishing limits set within the current Ontario Recreational Fishing Regulations Summary.

Download and colour the licence-free fishing colouring page to be entered to win 1 of 5 fishing prize packs, open to children 12 years of age and younger. Visit www.ontariofamilyfishing.com and follow on Facebook and Twitter (@onfamfish).

Ontario Family Fishing Events is led by a steering committee comprised of partners that includes representatives from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), the OFAH, and the Canadian Sportfishing Industry Association (CSIA).

With over 100,000 members, subscribers and supporters, and 740 member clubs, the OFAH is the province’s largest nonprofit, fish and wildlife conservation-based organization and the VOICE of anglers and hunters.
