INVITATION TO ALL MEDIA

OFAH/OPG Travelling TackleShare is coming to Cloyne, Ont.
Fishing gear on loan to young anglers at Bon Echo Provincial Park

Aspiring young anglers who would like to try fishing but aren’t sure how to get started or don’t have the gear, can head to Cloyne, Ont. this weekend for a free event. The OFAH/OPG Travelling TackleShare program will be at Bon Echo Provincial Park August 9 and will have everything young anglers need to cast out a line, including rods, reels, tackle and bait. The OFAH/OPG TackleShare crew will also have an interactive educational workshop, which includes introductory fishing instruction information on invasive species, and lessons on aquatic habitat and conservation. Visit www.tackleshare.com for details.

Travelling TackleShare is an initiative of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) and is generously sponsored by Ontario Power Generation (OPG).

Media are invited to attend this weekend event that will feature great photo and video opportunities of youth learning to fish for the first time, guided by qualified instructors.

When and where?
Saturday, August 9 running 1 to 4 p.m.
Bon Echo Provinical Park, 16151 Highway 41, Cloyne, Ontario.

The OFAH runs two lending programs: TackleShare, which loans gear from over 140 loaner sites across Ontario, and Travelling TackleShare, which brings fishing gear to a variety of events in different locations during the summer. Both programs are designed to break down the barriers that keep new and young anglers from getting out on the water, and to help youth experience the fun and challenge of fishing.

OPG is an Ontario-based electricity company and proud sponsor of the OFAH/OPG TackleShare and OFAH/OPG Travelling TackleShare programs. Water at any of OPG’s 65 hydroelectric stations can become dangerous in seconds. Remember to stay clear and stay safe of hydro dams and stations. Visit www.stayclearstaysafe.ca for more information about water safety.

With more than 100,000 members, subscribers and supporters, and 720 member clubs, the OFAH is the province’s largest nonprofit, fish and wildlife conservation-based organization and the VOICE of anglers and hunters.
