This week, the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) launched a new program to help fund community-based groups/clubs fisheries projects (see OFAH media release).
The Recreational Fisheries Conservation Partnership Program (RFCPP) will fund projects that will “restore, rebuild and rehabilitate recreational fisheries habitat.” This is an excellent new federal program that can benefit your club, your Federation, and fisheries conservation across Ontario and Canada. It has many similarities to what was the MNR’s highly successful Community Fisheries and Wildlife Involvement Program (CFWIP).
Please note that only group which are legal entities (have a Business number and GST/HST number) are eligible to receive funds from the DFO.
Deadline for project applications is Friday, July 12, 2013.
