Retired OFAH Executive Director receives Diamond Jubilee Medal
Natural Resources and Community Service recognized
Mike Reader, recently retired executive director of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, was among those honored across Canada with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal. The Peterborough ceremony took place on June 27 and was hosted by Peterborough MP Dean Del Mastro and MPP Jeff Leal.
The commemorative medal was created to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty’s accession to the Throne and honors both Queen Elizabeth and the significant contribution of Canadian citizens. MPs and MPPs were invited to nominate candidates from their communities for the national honor.
Speaking for the Board of Directors of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH), Executive Director Angelo Lombardo remarked on the occasion.”We are proud and delighted that Mike Reader has received this prestigious medal. Mike made a difference to his community through his involvement on Otonabee Council and the Otonabee Conservation Authority, and his work with the OFAH over the past 25 years has had a significant impact on the conservation of our natural resources and the continuation of our outdoors heritage.”
With over 100,000 members, subscribers and supporters, and 675 member clubs, the OFAH is the province’s largest nonprofit, fish and wildlife conservation-based organization, and the VOICE of anglers and hunters. For more information, visit www.ofah.org and stay connected on Facebook and Twitter.
