Georgian Bay Get Outdoors Club Members are Double Winners
Two Youth Awards won at 84th OFAH Fish & Wildlife Conference

MISSISSAUGA, ON — Georgian Bay is known far and wide as a world-class outdoors destination. The Georgian Bay Get Outdoors Club is also quickly becoming known as a destination for young people who want to spend time enjoying and conserving their natural resources. The great work of the club and in particular an individual club member were recognized recently at the 84th Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH) Fish & Wildlife Conference, which was held in Mississauga.

The Georgian Bay Get Outdoors Club was chosen for a second consecutive year to receive the the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) Junior Conservation Award. Club members were on hand to receive the honour from Deputy Minister David O’Toole.

Chas Mattice, a Georgian Bay Club member was also awarded the OFAH Heritage Junior Award for his conservation efforts and leadership over the past year.

The presentation was livestreamed and can be viewed at www.ofah.org/conference. The conference was a three-day event, which attracted over 700 attendees from across the province.

“We are so pleased to have these young conservationists join us this weekend. They are an inspiration to us all, and their leaders are to be commended for the countless time they spend in making the good work the club does possible,” said OFAH Executive Director Mike Reader.
