NORTHUMBERLAND, AUGUST 8, 2011- Community partners working together to improve fish habitat along Colborne Creek invite the community to attend a two-day event which offers opportunities to learn about the project, take a stroll along the new Suzanne Kernaghan Memorial trail, volunteer a couple of hours of labor improving the stream and enjoy a BBQ lunch. The event takes place in Rotary Centennial Park in Colborne on August 12 and 13.
The Community Stream Steward Program (CSSP), hosted by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH), is working with the Rotary Club of Colborne, Township of Cramahe, Lower Trent Conservation Authority, Northumberland Stewardship Council, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources’ Community Fisheries and Wildlife Involvement Program, Cramahe Horticultural Society, and Sir Sandford Fleming College to complete the project and host the event.
