MP Candice Hoeppner to deliver keynote at annual O.F.A.H. conference
The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (O.F.A.H.) will host its 82nd annual Fish & Wildlife Conference in Mississauga later this week. Candice Hoeppner, Member of Parliament for Portage-Lisgar, Manitoba and sponsor of the bill to repeal the long gun registry, will deliver the keynote address.
The province’s largest nonprofit fish and wildlife conservation-based organization annually draws hundreds of attendees from across Ontario to the annual three-day event. This year, speakers will deliver presentations on a broad range of topics, including species at risk, the Algonquin land claim, and firearms safety and range guidelines. The Honourable Linda Jeffrey, Minister of Natural Resources, will deliver a presentation Friday morning. On Saturday morning, Dr. Randall Eaton will discuss the merits of involving youth in hunting and fishing.
The conference concludes with an awards banquet Saturday evening, at which Candice Hoeppner will speak. The gala evening attracts politicians, conservationists, industry associates and outdoor enthusiasts. Awards are presented to individuals, clubs and industry associates for exceptional dedication and achievement benefiting fish and wildlife conservation and the promotion of fishing and hunting as part of our Canadian heritage.
O.F.A.H. conference registration also includes Saturday admission to the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show (TSS), which is being held for the first time at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The TSS’s parent company, the Canadian National Sportsmen’s Shows is a nonprofit corporation and Canada’s largest producer of outdoor events.
