Media invited to grand reopening of Ringwood fish hatchery

Today is the official celebration of an exciting new partnership that has ensured the continued operation of the Ringwood Fish Culture Station, near Stouffville.

Together with the Toronto Sportsmen’s Show and Ringwood Hatchery’s new host club, Metro East Anglers, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, and its many partners, are now directly responsible for stocking millions of fish into Lake Ontario’s $140 million recreational fishery over the next several years. Along with O.F.A.H. members, conservation partners and other special guests, the media is invited to raise a glass of Banrock Station Wine as we officially toast the grand reopening of this provincial-scale fish culture station. A wine and cheese reception and hatchery tour will follow some brief welcoming remarks and introductions.

When: Tuesday, November 21 – starting at 11:30 a.m.
Where: O.F.A.H./Toronto Sportsmen’s Show Ringwood Fish Culture Station, On Highway #48 – just south of Bloomington Road
Media Opportunity: Full tour of the newly renovated fish hatchery and interviews with hatchery staff, volunteers and corporate partners.
