O.F.A.H. awards $290,000 in prizes from Orillia to Sioux Lookout

On Friday, May 27, the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters tumbled its ticket drum, drew 100 lucky winners and awarded over $290,000 in prizes for the 31st Annual O.F.A.H. Conservation Lottery. This year’s O.F.A.H. winners list spans the province, from Chatham to Sioux Lookout.

The village of Coldwater, near Orillia, is where you’ll find the awe-struck winner of the ultimate Grand Prize: a 2005 Dodge Durango, Lund Boat, Yamaha motor, and Northtrail trailer. Coldwater’s Murray Martin is the man with the lucky O.F.A.H. first prize ticket. Mr. Martin is an O.F.A.H. member and is actively involved with the Orillia Fish and Game Conservation Club, a major driving force for local O.F.A.H. ticket sales.

In Kitchener, second prize winner, Gloria Rock, also has something new to park in the driveway: a 2005 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4×4; and in Scarborough, third prize winner Cindy Bero is telling all of her friends about how a $2 ticket to support the work of the O.F.A.H. earned herself a brand new Dodge Carvan Sport.

Meanwhile, in Sioux Lookout, Moe Bouchard is busy making travel arrangements for a trip to the O.F.A.H. Conservation Centre, in Peterborough, where he’ll claim fourth prize: a Dodge Dakota Club Cab, valued at $34,662.

“It’s certainly a great day for all of our winners, and it’s also a great day for everyone who bought and sold O.F.A.H. Conservation Lottery tickets,” said Mike Reader, O.F.A.H. Executive Director. “Right now, these lottery proceeds are giving kids a chance to learn about conservation and experience the great outdoors through the O.F.A.H. Get Outdoors program. Over the past 31 years, O.F.A.H. lottery funds have also supported habitat enhancement, wildlife reintroduction and invading species prevention programs.”

The O.F.A.H. Conservation Lottery is the major fundraising event for the O.F.A.H., the largest, fish and wildlife conservation organization in Ontario. For a complete list of winners in the 31st Annual O.F.A.H. Conservation Lottery, please visit www.ofah.org Provincial Lottery Licence P041350
